Outlook on a spring day

Trees and grass are overgrown
in the still standing mountains
and by the quietly flowing rivers
surrounding the country's war-torn capital
Sorrow and sadness filled my heart and inside
when I look at the scene in front of my eyes
on this supposedly bright and joyful spring day
Missing and longing for my loved ones
make tears dripping down my face
not to mention that even the birds' flapping sounds
caught me off guard as a big surprise
No words at all from my parted family for three months
due to the ongoing war against the rebellions
Hairs on my head are getting thinner and thinner
after many sleepless nights
longing for a precious letter to come
