Micron leads chip stock slaughter after warnings on demand from Wall Street and a key industry player
Morgan Stanley says the memory chip market's fundamentals are getting worse, citing rising pricing pressure and inventories.
KLA-Tencor shares fell to its lows for the trading session after its chief financial officer Bren Higgins gave more negative appraisal of the memory chip market at a technology conference Thursday.
The comments drove the semiconductor sector lower. The iShares PHLX Semiconductor ETF declined 2.1 percent Thursday, which memory chipmaker Micron plunged more than 9 percent.
