- Apple Inc. (AAPL) is looking to launch its new video streaming service in April or early May, but access to WarnerMedia's HBO or Netflix Inc. (NFLX) may be left out, CNBC reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter. -- HBO may join other content providers--including Lions Gate Entertainment Corp.'s (LGFA) Starz; Showtime , a unit of CBS Corp. ( CBS ); and Viacom Inc. (VIA)--on the service, but discussions with Apple aren't far along, one of the people said, according to the report. -- Netflix and Hulu , which is jointly owned by Comcast Corp. (CMCSA), Walt Disney Co. (DIS), 21st Century Fox Inc. (FOXA) and AT&T Inc.'s (T) WarnerMedia, aren't expected to be a part of Apple's service, according to the people, the report said. --Spokespeople from Apple , HBO , Netflix , CBS , Viacom , Starz and Hulu declined to comment, CNBC reported.
