Whiting Petroleum stock might also be seeing bearish trends due to its planned ~96.0% increase in 2017 capital expenditures compared to 2016 levels. The company’s production expectation hasn’t risen concurrently with its increased capital expenditures.

As a result, Whiting Petroleum stock failed to rise significantly despite its upbeat 4Q16 earnings.

俺的备注：在上面的报导里估计WLL波动的底价是8.3元附近。目前的价格是6.25元附近。

Goldman Sachs downgraded Whiting Petroleum (NYSE: WLL) from Neutral to Sell with a price target of $7.25 (from $11.50).

Analyst Brian Singer anticipates the company will likely disappoint investor volume growth expectations citing headwinds from reduced cash flows and tighter access to capital "at this lower commodity price."

FY 2017 EPS estimate falls from a loss of $0.48 to a loss of $0.54, FY 2018 EPS estimate rises from a loss of $0.37 to a loss of $0.32 and FY 2019 EPS estimate rises from a loss of $0.16 to a loss of $0.12.

WLL的暴跌是因为Gs（高盛）调降为卖（做空），从目标价11.5调降为7.25元，这是超过30%的下调！然而WLL已超跌，一度跌至5.8元。高盛的11.5元未曾到过。现在突然转为做空，只是顺应时机，借机炒空，基本面并非如此。
这些分析师没有考虑到WLL所做的对冲保护高达48%。WLL没有大幅增产主要是目前价格不好，所以只是挖井而不压裂产油。若是年底油价上涨，这些井可以随时投入生产。

另外，目前WLl价位已经超低，未来反弹是必须的。
